A few days ago. Ready to go find some birds don't ya think? I'm leary though for she can't see or hear that well and she could get lost easily. At 14+ I guess she is a retired birder. Gary Dec 3, 2011

Hi Barbara: Jan 2012 Remmie (aka AJ) is now living in Rock Mills with Josh and Amanda Hunking |
Hi Barbara, I hope this email finds you well. Our dog Annie, whom we bought from you in 1997 is almost 12 years old and still in pretty good shape for a “senior”. We continue to run her hard almost every day and she has thankfully remained free from major problems other than arthritis, which has been controlled completely by the addition of Sasha’s Blend to her diet, which has been a miracle for her; she was on prescription anti inflammatories for years before that and now is off them. We can’t thank you enough for Annie. She has been the finest dog that my wife and I have ever owned; gentle, smart as a whip, loving and very even tempered. She is much loved not only by our family but by extended family and friends as well. She adapted beautifully when our daughter was born after years of being our only “child”. We feel very lucky to have had the honour of owning such a fine animal once in our lifetimes. Are you still breeding Brittanys for sale? If so, can you forward information about prices and the adoption process? We’re not interested immediately but I do want to be in the loop on this for future reference. Best, |

![]() | Hi Barbara, |
I thought I would forward you a few more pictures of Bosco. She loves being on and around the dock.
Hi Barbara, Feb 25,2012 It's Bosco's eight birthday today, hard to believe but we can hardly remember family life without her. She hasn't slowed down, her boundless energy keeps us on our toes and forever going for long walks. A tired Brittany is a wonderful thing! I taught her two new tricks this year, so you can teach an old dog new tricks. Well at least you can with her, she's so smart, a little too smart sometimes. She studies our body language and is very aware of what's going on and what our next move will be. She probably knows about 100 words too, since we are forever talking to her. I keep looking at your puppies and wonder if we should get another one since Bosco hates being left alone ... but I don't think I can handle two clever dogs in the house. So we will celebrate with Bosco tonight... with a little ice cream, her absolute favourite thing. Take care Barbara. Sharon Pece Hello Barbara, Feb 25, 2013 | Good afternoon Barbara, I have to say e-collar had worked a miracle with Bosco! She has always known what “here” means, she has often chosen to ignore it when off leash (which has been almost never, such a shame) except in the backyard. Now with the help of e-collar she always returns whether she is wearing the collar or not when called. Honestly it took us two weeks to take the collar out of the package because we didn’t have the courage to try it, we didn’t want to hurt her, but it was so easy. And since you recommended it, we trust you. She has only needed a few taps (level 2), and now when we work on her training we only use “tone”. I now feel confident we can release her at the cottage and she won’t get lost. I am so happy and relieved she finally listens! Thank you for the advice. Now she is the perfect dog! Sincerely,
Hi again Barbara, Feb 25, 2012 Just wanted to show you Bosco in action. She did injure her leg a few years ago which required 14 stitches, she cut the back tendon. She ran over a old rusted piece of tin roof under the snow on a hike, she was down a steep ravine. Luckily she's light enough and I carried her to the car with my scarf wrapped around her leg and we went directly to the emerg vet. But it hasn't slowed her down one bit. She did have a hard time with little exercise while it was healing, but she's good as new. I can still take her cycling with me, one thing the vet said she probably couldn't do again since her foot now sits at a different angle. Never say never. Love her so much.

Hello Barbara: I hope you are enjoying the summer. I thought that I would send you some more recent photos of Brady. He is a wonderful dog! Brady and I have had a great summer so far. Brady has been canoeing and camping and generally enjoying the outdoors to the fullest. He is also a very popular little guy - everyone who meets him loves him. I can't believe that Brady will be a year old next month. He has been such a joy. Best regards, Anne | back to top |

| Barb, Here are a couple of puppy shots of brie for your scrapbook..She is doing fine and we are settling into a routine now…She LOVES the puppy growth recipe! I made a batch and portioned it up into little servings to freeze and take out when I need it..I mix it with a bit of kibble and she just gobbles it up…. Thanks again and we’ll keep you updated on her progress..First vet visit tomorrow! Kevin J From the time we brought Brie home with us we knew she was going to be a special pup. Being our second Brittany we were ready for the high energy level and took full advantage of her eagerness to learn. Barbara did an exceptional job preparing her for her trip home and In the 4 short weeks we have had her, she has learned to go to the door and let us know when she needs to go out and has also mastered the “Come and Sit” command. Not bad for a pup that’s not quite 12 wks old! We have modified her raw diet slightly but for the most part she is thriving on the meals we prepare using the recipes Barbara sent home with us…. Thank you once again for raising such wonderful dogs! Kevin & Laura Bryan November 22, 2009 Just passing on a picture of Brie that I took this morning on a run…I apologize that the lighting is poor as I took it with my phone.. I wanted you to know that Brie is the love of our life and with our son off at university, she gets all the attention! She is a wonderful dog and has a very sweet and loyal temperament. Seeing her leap and bound on the hunt in the field is a joy to watch and many people remark at how impressive she is and ask about her breed.. To some it all up we are thrilled with Brie and want to thank you once again for breeding such fine animals! Thanks again and take care .. Kevin |

Hello Barb, I'm just dropping you a line to let you know how the last year has been. Charlie and Sam are doing well. I am always getting comments on how beautiful they are. Charlie will be 4 the end of Feb and Sam will be 2 the end of Apr..where has the time gone? Mike returned from his tour to Afghanistan in Feb and we had a baby girl, Sarah, the end of Jun. Overall it's been a busy year...how about you? I hope things are going well for you and wish you all the best for the year ahead. I have attached some pics of the boys, enjoy. Hi Barbara, I hope you are keeping well. It’s been quite a long time since my last email; however, I was thinking about you on Chelsea’s third birthday on March 26th. I thought I would give an update. She is the best dog ever;) We love her to pieces. She’s a ton of fun outside and a lamb in the house. Ariel, Olivia and Matthew love her like a sibling. Chelsea herself is very loving and cuddly. We have no worries about leaving her in a kennel. She gets along with everyone and everything (except some cats) . Ross has become very, very attached. I think you might remember that he has some doubts about getting a dog, now they cuddle on the couch and have a regular play session in our bedroom every morning. Chelsea waits for him to be ready. She is known at the dog park for her “Brittany bounce” and her speed. She can tail a Whippet. I would love another one, but I think one is realistic. Maybe someday.... All the best and thanks for a great dog, Marian McIntyre, Kanata, ON
On Tue, Feb 12, 2013 Hi Barbara, How are you? I can’t believe Chelsea will be 7yrs old this March. Time sure flies. We haven’t emailed in quite a while though I contacted you a few months back about possibly getting a puppy. I see that you are expecting a litter for March. I guess you have quite a long list for those puppies by now. At this point, if all the puppies or spoken for I would like to ask you if you have or know of any adult dogs that would need a home. If not I’m wondering when you’re planning on another litter. Many thanks!

Hello Barbara I thought I would give you an update and some sweet photos for your website! HiddenCreeks Amazing Cooper Dam: Ch Hiddencreek's Sufficient Grace (Jenny) Sire: Ch Mt View's No Doubting This Tomas (Tomas) Born: June 29th, 2011 Cooper is already 18 weeks old and has settled right into our home and our hearts. He is such a joy, funny, sweet, a little bit silly. He is patient enough to put up with a little too much cuddling from the kids from time to time. Together we have discovered a few new beautiful nature trails in our area, and met some wonderful new doggie friends. Cooper is graduating puppy kindergarten next week, after learning roll over, sit, stay, jump, and almost mastering play dead. He has been enjoying playing with his brother Sparta after classes. His favourite game is "Shark Attack".....our poor Shark puppet may not survive much longer! Everywhere we go, we are asked about our fine dog, and the Brittany breed. We are proud to tell all about it. thanks again for a wonderful puppy. Carolyn, Wayne, Eric & Kelly “Here is our dog Cooper. He just turned 1 year old. He is a Purebreed Brittany, liver & white, from HiddenCreek Brittanys here in Ontario. He is silly and fun, and such a good dog. We are in puppy obedience classes, where he steals the show. He loves to go out in the car, and swimming in the lake. He will insist that you share your icec ream after a hot day. He is very patient and loving to our two small children, and will happily greet any new person or dog. He would be a great candidate for “dog of the week”, even though he is really the dog of a lifetime….. ![]() ________________________________________________________________

11/12/06 We are still enjoying everything about Duchess. She is so much fun. The kids love to play and snuggle with her, and she seems to fit in perfectly with our family. One question I have is about her eating her own poop. I know a lot of puppies do this, but what can we do to stop it. Why do they do it too. It's so nasty.Anyways here are some pictures. Thanks again for all you've done. Amy Miller The only way I know of to stop this is to get there first! This is something that dogs don't, haven't figured it out yet myself, you're right, it's nasty. |

Hi Barbara, We must thank you for your early housetraining regime as she has had only a few accidents and none for a few weeks. She even goes on command now! She is doing great with the crate training and has been sleeping through the night since 9 weeks old. She enjoys her long walks in the morning and evening and we have found a great field near us where she loves to chase butterflies and birds, giving her lots of exercise. We have had her up to all three of our cottages already and she loves to be up in the woods. She likes paddling in the shallow water more than swimming but is a good swimmer when she does it. She loves boat rides and canoe rides too! |

| Barbara: Please find attached several pictures of our "Elle" often called Ellie, Miss Ellie, Ellie-May and occasionally a few other things! Ellie's mom was "Annie Get your Gun" and her father "Scout" and she has been with us since she was 8 weeks old and she will be 11 years old in July of this year (2006). We think she has had a great life to date and remind her that she can thank her not-perfectly-matched butt that she came to live with us. If you may recall, she was not the pup we had picked originally but as we did not intend to show our dog you asked us to take her instead. I wonder sometimes how the other little girl made out it in her career, however we would not trade our pooch. Ellie certainly likes to perform regardless of her markings. She is a very beautiful girl and people still mistake her for a puppy even though she is not as wild as she was in her younger days! She looks forward to her daily one hour run in the conservation area north of our city. In the attached photos she is playing in the fields at my parents farm. It is nice to see the pictures of all the other Brittany pups along with their stories. Lee and Gary, Sault Ste. Marie |

Hi Barbara, Nov. 6, 2012 Hope all is well at Hiddencreek. Just thought you might like to see a couple of pics of Ellie. She's 1 year 10 months now....seems like we have had her forever. 06/15/07 Hi Barbara, We wanted to share with you some pictures of Emma (now 9 months) on our outing to Bronte Creek Provincial Park a few weeks ago. Emma turns into a different dog when she is out enjoying nature and literally springs up and down through the tall grasses. Emma has been so easy to train, and is such a wonderful companion that we enjoy taking Emma along where ever we go. She has been adopted by most of the tenants in our building, and considers their apartments home as well. We have been complimented by her vet, the dog walkers that come when we are working and even by passers-by on the street on her temperament, her lovely stride and her markings. Considering the large amount of families with dogs in our neighborhood, it is surprising how much attention she attracts. We will be moving next month in to a home of our own and Emma will have a large backyard to romp in. Angie & Chris |
Hi Barbara |
Aug, 2010 We still have A.K.A. Farley, you changed his name when you received him back from his family to Charley, and when we adopted him at 1 1/2 years we changed it to Brady. Litter #LN741530NA Born Jan 2/03. I guess you are wondering what we did with him or if we still have him. Well we do. He eventually wormed his way into our hearts and we could not give him up. He is quite the boy. Loves to run, and run away when he gets the chance. Thank goodness for his name tag and our number. He really only escaped this spring for 5 hours and we couldn't find him. A man 10 blocks away found him in his yard and called us. The other escapes were only short but sweet to Brady, we are able to find him within a few minutes. He keeps us on our toes.
Hi Barbara Just wanted to give you a little progress report on "Farley" - What a sweetie he is !! He is SOoooo relaxed and good-natured ! - has adapted really well to EVERYTHING !! WE MUST GIVE A LOT OF CREDIT TO GOOD BREEDING AND TLC in his early weeks !! The drive home was NO problem - he whined and yelped a bit for only about 30 sec.and then went right to sleep. We stopped a few times to let him pee - he even tolerated a collar and leash with NO PROBLEM - just prancing along like he'd done it before ! (We couldn't chance anything along roadways !!!) We made another stop at Oakville where we went to a pet store to pick up a nice bed for him and some toys - then for a short visit to my sister's in Oakville. Her 5 yr. old grand-dtr. was there, so Fraley met a new group of people and loved Rianna, cuddling up to her on the grass the whole time ! When we got home we took him on a little tour of the ground floor of the house then out to the back garden where he romped and played for a long time. He was a bit slow to eat his dinner but I guess with all the excitement of the day & newness of everything that was pretty normal ? He slept like a charm in his crate all night (with only one toilet trip - at OUR request, not his !) My son's girlfriend came over today to meet him (bearing MORE doggie toys ! - he's getting spoiled already !) AND I have to tell you that you were R-I-G-H-T .the empty coke bottle IS THE best toy ever !!!!! Dave & I wear leather mocs around the house so Farley chases our laces as we walk !! He's hilarious ! As I type this he is snuggled beside me - there is a huge thunderstorm and he hasn't even flinched ! (maybe those fears come later ??) Anyway, we're both learning to walk with our legs astride (haha) ! ...and REALLY ENJOYING the experience. I KNOW it's just the 1st day but I think if we try to do all the "right things" and maintain patience and a sense of humour we're in for a lot of fun (MOST of the time !) We'll keep in touch ! AND I will send you some photos once I figure out HOW to hook up my camera to the computer etc.!!! (I need a 'puter'-tutor !!!) Farley says: "Hi and I miss you, but I think I like it here so far" !!!! Marcelle & Dave (Fonthill) back to top |
Fionn is doing well. He's sprouting up quickly and is full of energy.
| |
Freckle is doing great. She is very active and is growing like a weed. She has learned to run with me on the bike and does a great job of staying about 5 feet to my left! She seems to really like it and is great exercise for both her and me. I can see I will be in much better shape soon!! At the cottage she gets to run free which of course she loves. She is already in obedience classes and is doing quite well. The trainer is amazed at how focused she can be for a puppy in a class of 8 dogs So far she hasn't chewed on anything that she isn't suppose to, well other that the odd sock or my sandal which seems to be the only shoe she is interested in! Anyway, we are really enjoying her. |

He is the most loving dog you could ever ask for, and such a wonderful and loyal friend. He is starting to show his age a bit recently but still in pretty good health overall and loves to run around in his back yard. Thought you might enjoy seeing what he looks like now.

Hi Barb
July 1, 2010 Hi Barb-last week I asked if you would like a couple of updated pictures and here they are. Gloria has a unique way of sitting on the stairs and she has perfected her pose-dont know if the pic can be turned around. I took a nice one of Dobby on the back deck watching as the garden hose was being taken out front to wash the cars. Then a quiet pose of the two lounging on the deck. You did a page for Gloria when we first brought her home (her and Dobby are sitting on his favourite chair). If you want to post any on your new web page go ahead.
HI Barbara, We all made it home safe and Marley was perfect in the crate all the way home. Anyway, many thanks, it has been a whirlwind weekend but we're so glad to have a Brittany in our home again and I know that Briar would approve!

Just a quick note of appreciation for breeding such beautiful, intelligent and enjoyable dogs as our Jasper. Our girls all adore him, my husband loves having another male around, & he's my running companion (we go out on 45 min. runs 4 time a week in the woods, he just loves it as do I). And of course, he's off the leash in the woods. Irene Bohinc |
![]() | Attached please find a couple of photos of Jessy taken last weekend at the cottage. He is so good natured and learns quickly, he is a pleasure to have as part of the family. There have been no issues with house training, as you indicated “your puppies know what the grass is for”. At the cottage we rarely tie him up, he stays close and routinely checks on us to ensure that we are still close by. We are certainly enjoying him. |

I'm 1 year old today!!! (Kodi -from litter born March 9, 2007 - Grace and Pekoe) He has been very busy since we brought him to his new home in Sudbury. The first week we brought him fishing on our boat....which he decided he would jump off of for fun :) he's a good little swimmer that's for sure...We've taken him hunting and the first bird we got, he wasn't too sure what to do with...I think it will take him a little while before he's a real hunter! He's gone through his first We absolutely love him and thought we'd let you know just how much by sharing these pictures with you..... |
Dylan and I are thrilled with Kinsey - she has a wonderful, cheerful and brilliant personality and enjoys every moment - these pictures are from tonights walk - she is loving living in caledon with all the woods and ponds for her to patrol. We still wonder about getting a second puppy so would be happy to hear about future litters.... We'll start some basic hunting lessons in the late summer - although she seems to know an awful lot about it already... Tuukka is also doing well and is presently at his "summer place" in Haliburton with mom and dad. Hi Barbara - Happy New Year. I thought I'd send you a couple of pictures of Kinsey and Tuukka. Kinsey is a delight and is slowly outgrowing the puppy stage and becoming more calm although she certainly has bursts of madness. She loves to be outside and has taken very well to our "invisible" fence system. She gets hours of walks around the ski club a day and her hunting instincts are quite impressive. I hope you and your dogs are well - we'd still be interested in getting a second puppy if you have any litters planned. Thanks for our lovely dogs

Dec 2010 Hi Barbara - I wanted to send you a few recent pictures of our two hidden creek brittany's Kinsey and Gruffydd. They are both thriving... and lying upside down on the couch in front of the fire with me as i type. They love their yard and patrol the woods with great sincerity - often showing up at the door with unfortunately slow chipmunks, squirrels and/or field mice. we get lots of wild life (rabbits, raccoons, foxes, deer) so they sit in the window seats guarding us from these visitors. Both have been extremely healthy and are adapting well to our 1 year old daugher. Kinsey especially is very protective of her and will nose and lick her if she cries - she likes to sleep on the bed in Sophie's room or under her crib at night. They are unbelievably gentle with her.

Hi Barbara, We have had such a great summer with our Lily. She is now 20 weeks old. We truly believe she is the best puppy ever and couldn't have asked for a better addition to our family. She has grown so much since she came home with us in June. Lily has the sweetest and most gentle personality and learns incredibly quickly. We are doing clicker training with her and she has got the basic commands down. Potty training was virtually effortless because she did that all on her own. There are many dogs in the neighbourhood and she is a social butterfly, friendly with everyone. One of her favourite activities is running off leash with her friend Trinity, an Australian Shepherd. At first Trinity was much faster but now Lily has no issues keeping up. She also loves retrieving a frisbee and ball. At home Lily is my little shadow and follows me everywhere around the house. She is teething right now so we keep her well supplied with lots of chew toys. She doesn't really bother with anything that is not hers. Lily also loves our cat Dobby although sometimes I don't think the feeling is mutual, especially when Dobby is trying to nap and Lily just wants to play. When Lily gets a bit older I think we will try agility or flyball. She would love that. Right now we are enjoying our puppy and love her to pieces. I hope all is well with you. I see you have been very busy with 2 other litters since Lily's. I look at the pictures you post and can hardly picture Lily being so small even though it wasn't that long ago. Attached are some photos of Lily. Thank You for giving us such a beautiful and wonderful puppy. Kris _________________________________________________________ |

Hi Barbara; We thought we would send a couple of pictures along of Lily as she approaches 5 months. It is hard to believe she is that old already. She has been a great addition to our family. She is very active (surprise!! Ha Ha) and she is getting lots of good exercise, as are we. Lily is very smart, most times she is two steps ahead of us and keeps us thinking all the time. We just love her. I think she will be an excellent agility dog. Take Care Barbara. Paul and Carol Drake New Glasgow, NS. |
09/26/06 Merry Christmas Barbara! Here is Luna as we found her after leaving a package of toilet paper unattended. She is doing fine and is loved by all. Still she has such a nose for the wild life around us. Best wishes, Ana Luna turned 6 A few months late for the update but here it is. Ever so handsome...Never letting go of her dogged enthusiasm for all things that move..

Dam: Ch Hiddencreek's Sufficient Grace (Jenny) Born: June 29th, 2011 Hey Barbara, Just wanted to update you with a few photos. I didn't want to overload your email with pictures but it was SO hard to choose! She's is just the cutest thing. We are starting to take her everywhere we go and everybody just loves her. I can't believe she's already 11 weeks old! The DSC photos are all of her when she was 8 weeks and the other two are at 10 and 11 weeks. She reminds me of her mama Jenni (looks wise) but her personality seems to be more like Tomas (from what I remember when we visited with him). She has a mind of her own that's for sure, and we all find it so amusing haha. It makes it seem like she's not a dog sometimes; people really underestimate the intelligence of some dogs. Aside from being extremely smart she is just the biggest sweetheart and loves to be loved! My favourite times with her though is when I take her out for our ventures in the forest. It's so amazing how much I can just relax and enjoy my time with her because she is such a good dog; she doesn't stray more than 10 ft away from me. We all feel so blessed to have her in our life and can't thank you enough for your time and effort bringing her up. I guess it's true what they say...when you find a good breeder, it's like a gold mine, priceless really. Keep in touch, The Pankericans May 27, 201 Hey Barbara! Just wanted to send this adorable photo of Tea to show you how well she's doing. Please say hi to mama Jenny and papa Tomas for her! :) "Keep your eyes on the stars, your feet on the ground and your heart in your hand." ________________________________________________________________ |

Hi Barbara... just a little note to tell you that Marshall is doing great. He has been doing his business outside and is doing well at night. We all love him to pieces. hi Barbara... just a quick note to say that Marshall is doing great. It's hard to believe we have had him for over 6 weeks. Don't worry about the rawhide you saw in our last photo... it was only in it for the benefit of the person who gave it to us as we sent them the photo too... we don't let him have rawhide... and he loves the soup bones. |

Oct. 2012 I just came back from my annual fall camping trip and as usual Molly was my companion while the pointers stayed home. This has become our special time together. Molly is now over 12 and this past spring developed a funny sound to her breathing. She is now nicknamed HR Huff & Puff but this has not slowed her down at all. Her style in the field is still straight ahead go from A to B regardless of what is in her way. She goes over, under, up, down through anything!!! She has always taken the road less travelled. We spend a lot of time grouse hunting this trip and she was showing the younger dogs how it is done. She is never on the path but always working the bush on either side. We came across a log over a creek and her agility training came in handy as she ran across it without any hesitation. Another time we had to cross a log bridge and again no issue however on the way back she decided to get a drink first. I true Molly form the direct route was now across the creek. As I watched her swimming and floating away down the stream with the current I could only smile and laugh at her antics. Her hearing is gone now and so she wears a bell in the bush and is fondly referred to as "Diggle Dog". Each night she lays upside down in her camping chair sleeping by the fire as I brush out her daily collection of "kindling" from her coat. "Don't sit in the Brittany's chair" is a common phrase to visitors to our camp fire. Molly worms her way inside and to the bottom of my sleeping bag each night and keeps my feet warm. I was looking for you at the Britt field test this past weekend but missed you. I hope all is well with you and thank you again for this amazing little dog.

Oct 16, 2013 Molly & I just got back from our annual camping trip up north. She was disappointed in the lack of grouse (only saw 4 & got 2) but still had a good time. You have to be very careful leaving your chair at the campfire. She is now known as the chair bandit and will steal your place at a moments notice. She kept me warm on the cold nights (down below zero) at sleeping the bottom of my sleeping bag. I don't know what next year will bring since she is now 13 so I treasure every moment together. She is loving her nose work classes. |
Hello Barbara. This is my dog that comes from your hiddencreek line. Her kennel name is oozie and she's from queen ester and solomon. Oozie finished 2nd in the 2009 NSTRA Central Canada Championship trial. The amazing thing is she is 10 years old and beat out many younger dogs of mixed breeds like setters, GSP's and pointers. She also placed first in an earlier trial this year out of a field of 25 dogs. She is an amazing house dog / hunter, and she goes to work with me everyday. I don' t know if i'll ever be lucky enough to have another dog like her !! Just thought you might be interested in the news. PS: How has this line been doing over the years. Any good potential hunters/ house dogs with a quiet displacement ?? |

Hi Barbara, Paige settled in very quickley and house trained nicely. We find her to be highly intelligent and full of character. Among her favorite activities are walks, runs, visits to the dog park and hikes with her border collie brother, Duncan. Paige is an excellent fetcher and an incredible jumper!! It's quite amazing actually. We look forward to her second summer where she'll have all her shots for the duration and therefore more flexibility for fun summer activities! |
Yesterday was Pekoe’s birthday. Time has gone by so fast! We’re really enjoying her, and she has a pretty good life here … lounging on couches, sleeping on beds, playing with the kids, etc. She is a different dog from our other Brittany; it’s like having 2 kids with different personalities |

Barbara, Just a quick note to let you know how Oh Reilly is doing and have added a quick pick of her lounging pool side. Looking at the pictures you sent us of Spice, Reilly is a spitting image of her Mom. Reilly has been an absolute pleasure to have as part of our family. Her temperament is so wonderful and she enjoys everyone’s company including all humans, dogs, and cats she may encounter. She has two younger brothers (cats) that she looks after and plays with. She is gentle with our four young kids and enjoys romps in the yard with them. At almost 4 years of age she has not slowed down one step. Best Regards, |
Hi Barbara, Thanks again |
| Hi Barbara |
12/29/06 I am an old man now and have finally slowed down at 11½ years old. We enjoy your website and think you should have a senior doggy section. I was wondering if you could tell me the names Riley’s puppies in case there are any pictures we could see them in. He is the greatest dog and has an unnatural passion for chasing squirrels. Our sixteen year old cat still keeps him in line and he is completely devoted to our kids Stacey 2½ and Chris 7. He doesn’t pull so hard on the lead anymore so Chris can have a turn walking him and he seems to know when Gramma is holding the lead and doesn’t even try to pull despite all the cool smells. I have attached Riley’s finishing photo and a recent photo for you. Thank you again for sharing your passion with us, we are hooked for life. Regards, |

Hi Barbara | Barbara

| We have been taking Ruger out hunting over the past few months, he has been hunting chucker and doing really well! The last hunt we decided to hunt him on pheasant HE WAS AWESOME ! ( This was the day we got the photo). Hunting is his passion, he shakes from excitement when he gets out of the truck and realizes the fun is about to begin! Ann has been an amazing trainer, we are going to continue with her when the nice weather is back. I think we are planning, If I am not mistaking to have Ruger try for his FD this year. Ruger is a handful, through a contact of Ann we got him into a good obedience class which we started a couple weeks ago (he was in one previously but I was not happy with their methods) The trainers here are amazing they know their stuff after the first class they pretty much analyzed Ruger to a T. I have to do things a little differently with him, I am proud to say after just 2 weeks he walks beside me on lead with no struggle each and every time I stop he automatically sits on my left and waits for my instruction. The instructors are very impressed!! Barbara it is so nice to know that if we have a quick question or concern your door is open so to speak, and that the day we picked up our puppy wasn't/wouldn't be the last contact we have with you. Your support has been appreciated! Ruger turned 1 year Jan 1st and we celebrated with a little cake, YES! Thank you so much for our little man!!!! Have a Fantastic Day and if his picture appears in the mag I will be sure to let you know!! |
Hi Barbara I hope you remember rusty, he is five years old now. Last year we tried to send photos of him so hopefully it will work this time. Sincerely, |

Hi Barbara - Sorry this is so overdue! We're loving getting to know Sage. She's a great little girl and loves playing fetch and teasing our cats, although she isn't very fond of puddles, we've learned! Attached are a few pictures of Sage in New Brunswick! Thanks you so much for providing us with such a wonderful little dog! Sarah Alexander, RMT Hi Barbara: July 4/10 Sarah, Sage, and I just returned from an awesome weekend in Fundy National Park! We had great weather the two days we were there and we managed to hike four trails for a total of 16.8km in two days. All but one of the trails we hiked had a waterfall. The waterfalls were great because it allowed for a refreshing break from the warm air temperatures. Sage and I watched today as Sarah took a dip in the pool at the base of the park’s largest waterfall. I am not sure what the water temperature was, but I am guessing it was likely around 12 to 15 degrees Celsius – Brrrrr! Sage and I were having no part of that. Attached is a picture of Sarah and Sage at the base of the waterfall after Sarah’s swim. Last night she did extremely well for her first night sleeping in a tent, but we did have to get up a little earlier than we usually do because she wanted to get out and explore. Sage was a real charm to have on the hikes as she encourages us to walk faster, but we think we finally managed to wear out our little ball of energy. She slept on Sarah’s lap on the drive home and after her bath she has pretty much savoured the delight of lazing around – taking 15 minute intervals on her bed and on the hardwood floor. All of us are probably off to bed early tonight. Everywhere we go, people ask about Sage. She is such a wonderfully behaved puppy and she has gorgeous features. We have managed to master “sit”, “stay”, and “laydown”, but we are still working on “come” – somehow she comes to “Ok” instead and only when her nose is not telling her to go after a bird or butterfly. Two weeks ago she had her spaying surgery and she sailed right through that. She didn’t even seem to notice that she had surgery. Getting raw food for her has become easier now that we have a new local market that provides that service – there seems to be a growing number of people feeding their dogs raw food. Next update we should have a picture of all three of us. Take care,
|

Good morning Barbara, Sitting here with a very audacious dog chewing a bone at my feet looking up saying “lets go for a run”. Man Savanna has a lot of energy and we love it! Life with the pup is great. She is full of mischief but is responding to training well. We take her every weekend to our cottage for three days where she is off leash 100% of the time and has become very comfortable in the woods and the water. Two weeks ago she came tearing around a corner on a dirt trail and came face to face with a baby dear that was just bigger than her. She stood and stared and eventually chased it into the woods where she then met the mother… she high tailed it out very fast! Last week she did the same thing but met a groundhog that stood and did a stare down for about 5 minutes. Adorable. We took your advice and bought an e-collar with a 1000m range and it adds a lot of security to the situation when you have a dog with an obsessed nose like hers. We haven’t spayed her yet… I would love to breed her but Shauna is hesitant on how it would work etc. When should she go into heat for the first time? There is not a single person that meets our dog that doesn’t stop and ask where we got her and to say that she gorgeous. This compliment comes from all types of people no matter where we go. We are so pleased in finding your kennel. Jon Hudson, Quebec |
June 18, 2010 | Scout has moved to England with his family!! Here are the children, and Scout surveying his estate. Most of the year the back door is open and he roams in and and out checking up on me and the garden, then sits in the doorway to make sure it doesn't go anywhere! The foxes who stroll up and down the railway line behind the house provide great amusement, as do the Canada geese on the playing fields beyond! He is still rubbish on a lead and at coming back to me, despite endless training, but is improving slowly and is a happy dog - ears always up and tail wagging! He waits patiently at home while I go to work and is glad to see me when I get back, loves Mark and playing with the children in the garden. We walk in the parks and woods and he is much calmer in the house than he used to be. I can't quite bring myself to get him neutered but he has an implant as a trial for 6 months which has the effect of neutering but is reversible; I think it has toned down his behaviour quite a lot. He just makes friends wherever we go; I've been training with a gundog handler down in South Wales near my parents and they all love him at the kennel there. We're off on an 11 mile walk on the South Coast tomorrow and hope to give him his first experience of the sea! The rest of us are all fine too - Mark's job safe (thank goodness) and the children doing well at school. Ieuan is going up to senior school in September, and Gwen is moving to the same school for Y5 (like Grade 4) so we will all be in the same place. My job is pretty busy but I still just work three short days, finishing at 2pm so I can come home to Scout - all my colleagues laugh at me for that. We are still in the same rented house which is just in a great spot for shops and school. We feel so fortunate in the current climate that everything continues to go so well for us - we are all healthy and happy and are thankful for that. I hope you and you family are all well too and expect you are anticipating another great summer at the shows. I keep an eye on your site to see pics of your new champions! Pats for the dogs and very best wishes to you Barbara. Scout sends a 'wuff'. Owned and loved by the Evans family |

Smudge is 12 now. When she used to go running/ biking with us, as in these 2009 photos, she would go find a mud hole and dive in… She is really getting feeble now, and I only walk her around the block. She still loves the lake but will not swim.

He learned potty training in no time and has just passed his first level in obedience training. We are going on to the second level of obedience training and hopefully we will be able to do some agility in the future. Dear Friend, |
| Hi Barbara, She gets muddy a lot this time of year, with all the low levels of water is the streams around here. Doesn’t seem to bother her one bit! And she’s really good with other dogs and small kids. We’ll see how she does with a crying baby, but she doesn’t seem to get too worked up about things. I’ve attached a couple of recent pics (she never misses the morning veggies!). November 2009 Hi Barbara, It’s been a teensy while since I’ve emailed. There have been a few changes. Mitchell was born 10 days after Tigua’s birthday (May 14th) and is now 6 months, and we just moved. We are still in Peterborough, but a bigger house and a bigger yard. And we live even closer to the trails. Tigua is very happy. She’s a great dog. Everyone is very impressed with her. Steve hasn’t done any hunting yet, but he’s training with her every now and again. We are so glad we have her. I’ve attached a few recent pictures. She’s a great family dog, but she’s still a hunting dog at heart! |

Hddencreek's Tres Bien (Sept. 7/11)
Nov. 17, 2012 I'm writing to let you know that we are still very much in love with our Tres Bien. He is wonderful and I'm so very happy we spent the time to research the breed and meet with you. We have kept with his raw chicken diet (60%), other meats and veggies (20%) and kibble (20%) - he's about 45 lbs and solid muscle lol! Lots of exercise as well with running, hikes and whatever. I do have a question regarding winter camping though. We are going to Killarny Provincial Park this February for 3-4 days of winter camping and I was wondering if the cold temperatures might be too much? I've looked around but haven't been able to find good info. It could be anywhere from -5 to -25 with snowshoeing and skiing 10+ km per day. Anyway thanks again for Tres, and your assistance.
